Sean Hird / Director at DIFC Wills & Probate

Sean joined the W&PR as its Director in January 2016.
Sean is an accomplished business executive and UK qualified solicitor with 25 years commercial experience. He has worked for international law firms Clifford Chance and Addleshaw Goddard serving a predominantly multinational client base. Sean has advised many high profile companies on a broad range of matters including corporate governance and ethical standards. He holds a PhD in Genetics from Cambridge University.
Following his time in private practice, Sean joined the world’s largest cancer research charity as it Head of Legal and Company Secretary. On behalf of the charity Sean negotiated many global technology licensing deals one of which led to the launch of the world’s leading treatment for inoperable brain cancer. After four years with the charity, Sean moved to take up a number of General Counsel and senior management positions with venture capital backed SMEs that were developing new treatments for human disease.
Prior to joining the WPR Sean was founding CEO of an Australian-based company developing genetically modified crops to meet the challenges of climate change.
