Sherif Wahba / Managing Director, Goldman Sachs

Sherif is chairman of Goldman Sachs Saudi Arabia. He is responsible for driving the firm’s cross-divisional efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Previously, Sherif focused on the development of the firm’s business in Egypt and Qatar, where he remains involved with the business. Before that, he helped to build the Private Wealth Management business in the Middle East. Sherif joined Goldman Sachs in 1997 and was named managing director in 2007.

Prior to joining the firm, Sherif worked in marketing and sales for the US technology sector.

Sherif serves on the International Advisory Board of the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange.

Sherif earned an MBA from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated with a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Economic Development from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Sherif was ranked fourth nationwide upon graduating from high school in Egypt and studied at the American University in Cairo under a fellowship from 1982 to 1985.
Sherif lives in Dubai with his wife and their two children.
